what is your operating system of choice??

For me, this is a simple choice, although with the exception of this week, it is much more debatable...  but my first choice, by far, is Linux, specifically Ubuntu... because with the exception of this week, it just works and only works...  but with this last week, my thoughts on that matter are up in the air now... because upon going home today and attempting once again to reinstall it and to get it working, this next time will mark the 23rd time at minimum that I have tried to get it up and running again...  but all-in-all I much prefer Ubuntu over windows.  for one, it has like no viruses, two, it is rock stable, three (with the exception of this last week) it just works and always works for me...  and overall it is just a much nicer OS to use in my opinion than windows is...  it does not have a blue screen that forces your computer to reboot, making you lose everything that you were doing had you not saved prior to that, and it never locks up on me...EVER...  it is also MUCH lighter on resources than windows ever will be, and it is much snappier to respond to you than windows is... it also helps that it can transfer files INFINITELY faster than windows can, even faster than teracopy can move files in windows, and teracopy moves files dang quick...  this seriously helps if you (like me) transfer large numbers of files in one go... even more so if they are thousands of files, large or small...  and even more so if they are multiple gigabytes of files... when I'm either backing up, or restoring my files to/from my external hdd, they total roughly 100 or more gigabytes of data that I am moving... so the fact that ubuntu can move them seriously fast is a major help to me...
