The last thing you remember was the laughter of your mother and your family when all of a sudden you hear a loud crash at the front door of your little farm house.  Immediately your father grabs you and your siblings and you all run out the back of the house.

you then awaken apparently later that day in one of the fields of your families farm land to see your house ablaze, and your family nowhere to be found,  you rush up to your burning house to find the hat that your father wore along with a few of your siblings toys.

you vow that you will have your revenge on who ever it was that did this to you and your family...

Smoke, that’s all I could see. It engulfed the sky and swallowed the day, but it didn’t matter.  There was nothing to be seen anyhow. As I looked around I could feel the ash under my feet. It puffed and swirled as I walked, conjuring shadows from my past, but that was all behind me now. In the smoke I couldn’t see forward, but I sure as hell could not look back. A bag of ashes was all I took, and I vowed that someday these ashes may find shelter in the funeral pyre of my arsonist.

Hours, minuets, days, time had lost all meaning to me in those few moments. I felt my face leave my hands and began to walk staring at what was the sky, watching the smoke swirl and vanish. The moonlight danced among the leaves as the shadowy demons below performed their ritual. Round and round they danced on the blood of my arson, coxing the ashes behind me to flair. I watched mesmerized by the glistening path. I didn’t know where it lead, or whose blood it was, but one thing was for sure; they were about to lose a lot more.

However, I did not know whether or not the blood was from our farm animals, of which all were missing, as well as our barn being burnt to the ground, nor did I know whether it was the blood of my arsonist or arsonists, for my family was a strong and resilient family.  All I knew at that moment was that I had to avenge my family, for they were the only family in the world that I had, and they had made my life such a joy to live, and I had already begun to have great sorrow.  It was finally hitting me, that they were gone, and that I was alone.  I vowed that no mater what would happen from here on out, that I would make sure that whom ever was responsible for this demonic act was going to pay and pay dearly, how I had not decided yet, I just knew I just knew that I would find them, and make them pay.
from that day, I vowed that I would avenge my family, what ever the cost may be, even if it cost me my own life in the end.  And from there, I set fourth on my journey into the unknown, with anything I was able to manage to scrounge up from the ruins of our home.  That was not much, for all I was able to find was a slightly singed backpack to carry things in, and some money that I found was partially melted, and quite hot to the touch, but still useable and valuable.
