comic??

Ok...so I just got done reading a pm from newker...and he said that he just had a thought/idea...and I RATHER LIKE IT nun...

His idea was such: what if we made OUR OWN comic based upon this rp...

I personally cannot draw digitally...at all...very, VERY MUCH wish I could/want to be able to....

But what are your guys thoughts on this...

Also...what are your guys thoughts on the following two...only able to have a single poll per thread however...so just state your thoughts...one per line...and ya know what...I'm not makin a poll...on my tablet...so quote my reply, well the end, and reply with your answers...


Should we make our rp into a comic of its own??

And lastly, if we do make it a group comic, where we all work on it, should we split each page of the comic, being a set number of posts, up onna per person basis, ie person a gets posts 1-5 person b gets 5-10 and so on, so as to make the compic pages come out quicker??

But in any case...if we DO choose to make the rp into an online comic of our ow...also hosted on here...which ill make an additional paet of the site dedicated to the ro comic... like comic.caffeinejunkiesinc or somethong...then we will have to pause the rp for a while, or for set intervals, in order to get the comic started, and made quiclly enough to get a baseline for the page count, and in order to be able to catch the brand new comic up to where we are currently at in the rp...

I very much hope that you guys want to make our rp into a comic...that would just make me so god dam happy...id argueably xie of happieness of we did make a comic of our own for the rp...and if we do/

/did make the rp into a comicnadditionally...cause then it'd be the best of both worlds...a comic, AND an rp...so people can see what's happening, which would be simplifiex, as well as read about it much more in depth, and much more detailed...

But what are your guys thoughts...id make a project management system for the site again if you guys ARE up for it, and DO want to makehe rp into a comic...id removed thag system, cause there wasn't any need for it...but what do you guys think...if you do want to, thenhs project management sytem aould allow us to organize theomic, give info to people, and just help to make itmuch eazier to hamdle, and keep track of who's doing what, and the likes...

I was thinking the same thing last week, but unfortunately, I can't draw anything original worth Jack. Basically, Dotz's wings is the best of my work and I was only able to do them because I had another pic to work off of. But there are other webcomics out there that are spinoffs of popular web comics. We just need an artist and the RP archive.

NO...NO WAY...IM NOT GOING TO LET ANOTHER ARTIST DRAW THIS THING AS A COMIC...lol...not unless I have to...dontcha think it'd be effing awesome if we were the ones that both made the rp, AND were theones to make the comic??

Iunno bout you all, but I think that doing just that would be the MOST ULTIMATE OF HRAGGING RIGHTS...

To be able to say to people...yea, I helped to both write that, AND draw that...

Dono bout you all...but I just think that it would be the ultimate bragging rights, as well as be amazing to have also been the people to also make the comic...id be willing to give though...but they'd want to be paid for doing that...and THERE lies the problem...

Thanks newker...nice to know that as of right now, there's someone that has the same stance as me on this...*thinks to self*hmmm...why do I feel like that makes it sound like this is a fight, n I'm havin people choose sides...hmmm...*done thinking to self* but yea...I can go either way with a non rp member artist...but I would prefer infinitely that we all be the artists, for many reasons...just one being that if we all made it, it would be free, for we would be the artists...

Well there is always the off chance that someone will randomly show up read our RP adventure and want to do a comic for us for free. But we have a better chance of one of us RPers actually being able to draw as good as Tom. So yeah, I do want to see it, but I don't want to pay someone to do it for us, unless it became popular and we manage to make money off of our RP comic.

Lol...yea, you know it...but just remember...the more people that visit the site that is, if I can figure out how to modify the code of the *hopefully gallery made for the comic* comics chunk of the site, and modify it to run some of the ads...likely just the text based ones however, then te more trafic the site gets, the more people will see te links, and likely the more potenrial money we could make by simply running the site and the comic...granted I can garentee that its not going to be ebough to pay an artist to make the comic but......hey............wait a minute...*facepalms so hard it sounds like someone hit a large piece of.metal*...oww....bit hey guys...wait just a dam minute...*is a moron whom has no brain*...I'm friends with two girls here in town...and they have some DAMN good art skills...granted...I'm jot sure if they'd be willing, nor have the time, to draw the comic...SPECIALLY FOR FREE...even though they are my friends...and good friends...I still dono...ill ask em though...but I'm thinking that all of us would still be more likely to be able to do it....however...they just might...between the two of them...

well, i can't draw for my life...i think having a comic would be cool, but how would any of us really be able to draw as much to catch the comic up to where we are in the RP??

and THERE nick...lies the main problem that we would have with getting the rp into a comic...

THAT is why I wanted to know how many of you guys would be willing to TRY to draw pages in the comic...

THAT is also why i had said that if we do, well, enough of us at least, want to give it a try, that we would ALL(the people interested in trying/willing to try) would use a project management system, and we would each be responsible for a certain chunk of posts per comic page, making it to where we would each make our own comic page, one page at a time, on a per person basis... and then we would all collaborate in the project management system to let each other know where we are at on a given page, assign certain posts to be a page of the comic, and then asign that chunk of posts that make up the given page to a particular person... at which point, we would then upload the "finished" comic page to a certain location, or something that will be decided later on if we all decide that we have enough people willing to try to make the comic, and then, we would all review the given page that was submitted for all of us to look over, look for mistakes or things that could be tweaked, improved, or fixed...

once we all decide that a given page is good to post, either me, db, or maybe you guys...that will have to be decided later on if we even get enough of a group of us to be able to even be realistic to make the comic, and whom ever we choose in the end, will upload the given comic page...


guys...just PLEASE think about this next statement, and REMEMBER this next statement

nobody has a given talent right out of the box, and if they do, they are severely lucky, for that is rare...
so in order for one to GET/GAIN talent in something, they first have to start somewhere, and start small...
you didnt just up and begin walking one day as a baby now did you?? I doubt it, you had to start somewhere, first, by trying to shift your body as a baby, then at some point, you start to crawl, and ONLY THEN, at a later point in time as a baby, do you actually learn to walk...at first, very clumsily and very badly, but soon enough, you begin to walk quite well...and later in life, such as how ever old you are not(age doesnt mater at this point in the example), you walk extremely well, you can run(I hope...well, these examples asume that you are not hurt and unable to do anything...so I'm sorry if that is the case, and these are not possible x.x...I'd feel REALLY freaking bad if your reading this and you are not able to do these things... unu...)...

so keep that long @$$ wall of text of an example in mind BEFORE you decide that you do not want to help out, or before you think or decide or say that "I cant do this, I cant help, cause I cant draw"...everyone...EVERYONE has to start somewhere...heck, as children(really young mind you) our first drawings were nothing but scribbles...I'm not sure if anyone would remember that, I know I dont, but the thought still applies...

you dont just wake up one day to find out that you have some talent that you'd never practiced, or even tried to do at any other point, and wake up to find that you are, say, the next picaso... that just doesnt happen...

so keep that in mind... everyone has to start somewhere at something...so before you say to me or yourself, or decide that you couldnt possibly do anything to help in the comic, think about these parts of my post... and remember what I've said "everyone has to start somewhere"

I can tell you all this...I know FOR DANG FACT...that NONE OF YOU will POSSIBLY be worse at drawing in a digital art application MORE than me... ^_^"...so yea...your all going to be dang near factually better than me...so just try your best, and we'll see how it goes... like I said earlier...we can go back at a later point in time, and either fix up, redo, or recreate a given comic page at any point in time... so dont think that what ever you might draw up for a page of the comic, is going to be perminant... cause if any of you guys want to go back and remake a given page, by all means, feel free...just be sure to tell either me or db your redoing it, and do NOT remove the given page...simple do what you want to do to fix it or what ever, and send it to us/everyone else either on the project management system, or what ever we may end up using for this, if it does indeed get decided that we have enough people willing to try to make the comic, or what ever the case is...

just please, try to help out before you say to yourself, or one of us, that you cant do this, or that your not good enough...cause trust me guys...any one of you is dang near going to be, factually, better than me when it comes to drawing something up digitally...

also...some free, FREE apps that you all can use if you so wish are as follows...
***yea yea yea...I know, I know TOO much about applications, software, and FREE applications... :p...but what can I say...I like my software, I'm broke, I'm in college and that makes me EVEN MORE broke, and I LOVE to use things that are bigger, badder, and better than what windows comes with, or than what linux comes with, or the what not that applies here...**

Paint.net freeware (windows only, and requires I think .net4)
GIMP (linux version-ubuntu/debian based, ubuntu software center link)
GIMP windows installer(xp sp3 or later/win vista/win 7, I DO BELIEVE both x32 and x64)
Irfanview(FAST image file viewing app, I also think it supports editing of the files...dono for sure though...only use it to view pix in safemode...its DANG fast though...even in both safe mode, and normal mode(windows) )
jpegview(another image file viewer)

so theres a few apps that you guys can use to either make pictures/art, or to do various other things...

I REALLY hope to hear from you guys, and hope to hear your guys say that you'd be willing to give it a shot... really, really, REALLY hope to hear you guys say that...

but its up to you guys on that one, to choose what you'll do...I just hope that you guys choose to give it a shot... *shrugs* but I cant make ya...

you know what guys...I'm going to hope, and asume that enough of you guys decide that your willing to give making the comic/TRYING to draw up the comic pages in a digital art program, so that the comic will actually be made by me as well as you all...

and go ahead and make the parts of the site that will be used for the following

the part of the site that the comic will actually be hosted on/shown on/uploaded to for all to see

and

the part of the site that we all will use to keep track of where things are at, whos doing what, and all of that other stuff asociated with the comic, as it will *hopefully* be required to be informed of...

so I'm going to go ahead and go do that...and then I'm going to have to get offline, cause I gota leave the house at like 4:30 to get to an appointment with my mom...and *sigh* *smirks* I still havent started on my chores/goten any of them done :p...soo...yea...come to think of it...I should PROBABLY GO DO THAT RIGHT NOW, instead of working on the site/its new systems for the comic...

sorry for not being online much/at all today...I HAVE been online/on the site, but not to rp, I've been TIRELESSLY and DESPERATELY wracking my brain and programming/moding/editing skills ALL DANG DAY, trying to mod the site's files in order to INTEGRATE the comic system DIRECTLY into the forum itself...in the hopes of being able to avoid having to add another domain to the site...

also... *sigh* it would seem that the ONLY viable option for a comics system, is one that has no back end, or means for you all to upload the files yourselves...

I CAN make you all file transfer accounts to the site's server... *laughs* ...but that aint happening...cause no mater how trustworthy you guys are, and I'm not saying your not, THAT is one of the LARGEST safety problems I could POSSIBLY make, IF i did do that... cause then any joe shmoe that gets ahold of your accounts/info for that system, would have complete and total access to the site/its files, and best case senario, upload/plant viruses on the site...worst case senario, completely take over the site, destroy the site, or all sorts of nasty stuff...

so that said, you guys, (if we DO make the comic) will have to send the pix/pages to either me or db, and we will have to add them...
