test server aquired

WE HAVE AQUIRED OUR FIRST TEST SERVER...granted it OLD AS TIME...in the grand scheme of things...but hey...IT WAS COMPLETELY FREE...money wise...it was a trade...and NORMALLY, IDA BEEN JIPPED...ROYALLY...but for my purposes...IT WAS WAAAAAY MORE THAN WORTH IT...soooo...we will NOW ACTUALLY be able to test cout its power and usefullness in respects to being able to test out what works, and what doesn't...therefor, ima make an additional chunk/part of the site/domain to use for THAT computer, AND THAT ONE ALLONE...and it will NOT always be online...so keep that in mind...ima make it to where it will only allow people on its version of the site at certain times/days...SO DON'T POST ANYTHING THERE YOU DON'T WANT MISSING FROM THE REAL SITE...

Cause that one WILL NOT keep its data once we move the site over...which won't be for a LONG ASS TIME...so keep that in mind when tinkering with the site...

Its more going to be used for testing, tweaking, configuring, and that kinda stuff in respects to HOW/WHAT we need to run on our own servers when we get there, to have the site work as it should...

But...WE HAVE OUR SITE TESTING DUMMY COMPUTER NOW...AND FOR FREE NO LESS :3 ...*happy face, then win face*

This is going to be awesome...but PLEASE keep in mind guys...THIS THING IS BEING USED TO FIGURE OUT HOW WE NEED TO HAVE THE SERVERS SETTINGS/CONFIGURATIONS SET UP TO RUN THE SITE...

apparently...when trying to get it to boot/cleaning it out to try and get it to boot... due to it saying/then shutting off before booting, that it had an overheating issue, apparently when trying to clean it...I somehow killed it x.x"...

so...in other words...were back to not having a test server...

ok...I apparently killed that pc...but on the other hand, I felt like a total dumbass earlier today, cause I went into a local pc shop that I FREQUENT A LOT...and realized, oh hey...you guys have pcs that you sell...even though I WALK BY EM/SEE EM EVERY TIME I GO THERE... 3.2.1 *facepalmed*...and they will sell me some low end pc's for 60$ each...and considering that you cant build those things for that cheap...yea...were gona be running a LOT of those things... p4 desktops, and were going to run them in a combined performance style setup, so that they all run the same thing at the same time amoungst themselves, to share the work-load... and were going to have two nodes, one for the hosting of the files/processing, and another purely for the database hosting... so it will be cheaper that way than building them ourselves...trust me...I looked into the price...and thats what I've been doing dang near all week, meaning from today to last monday... its gona be WAY cheaper this way...granted its still not cheap...but hey...itll work for now at least...and god forbid one of them dies, then we can buy another one for a mere 60$... so its not all that bad...granted I'm going to be the one buying them...once I get my spending money set up with mah parents that is v.v... but yep...we have a means to purchase the computers now...so its nice...and I MIGHT end up renting a storage locker out here in town...well...depending on how much THAT costs per month... *sigh* cause THEN I'LL HAVE A PLACE TO STORE ALL MY COMPUTER JUNK AND WHATNOT AND NOW HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT GETTING PITCHED...cause apparently a LOT of my good pc parts got pitched... was looking for that stuff earlier today and cant find it anywhere...so yea...I think I might just do that, and both me and db can use it to store any pc stuff or stuff for the site that we have that we cant have at our homes...

just thinking/brain storming here though...dont quote me on that stuff, other than the computers for running the site...
