*Karen decides to leave Sapphire to grieve and heads home.*

*DB still sits by Nick's side replacing the bandages.* {Nick, I'm sorry. I'll have to talk to you when you wake.}

/......DB...i know you caused this but......thanks for trying to fix it.../

[Dat Basitin]

*DB.* {I hate to say this, but it was only a matter of time anyway. At least we were there to catch him.} *DB walks off to bed as well*

/......i guess.../*she sits by me to make sure i stay stable, and she lets Anya and Sarah know, and they slowly recover from their shock, but both are still really upset*

OOC: Night..... I feel like an ass for saying what I did as DB.... but he does too. There is a reason why he said what he said though.

***i know...i keep having my character be borderline insane because of his past, and i keep having Nickolai not realize/keep forgetting what he has in the present***

OOC: and at some point, these characters will stop caring if you keep pushing it. You almost snapped DB, Karen is borderline giving up on you too.

OOC: I just love it how Nick keeps saying that DB knows nothing of a dysfunctional family and he's lucky he had one. If I remember correctly, he disowned his own family because of how uncaring they were. They make DB look all soft and emotional.

OOC: Um... why the hell else would he give that speach about a family that does not care for you does not deserve to be called one?

OOC: its fine. But if you want to brush up, the only time he brought up this story was at his first attempted wedding with Karen. Yea that disaster. He doesnt talk about it though because he feels mentioning that kind of stuff to others unless directly asked is rude and selfish. He believes that part of being a person with integrity and honor is dealing with your problems on you own and helping others through theres when you can... although he's not really good at helping people emotionally. He tries but is often misunderstood or just outright fails at it.

*DB and Karen sit in the kitchen eating breakfast while Dan is training in the spare room.* <So what the hell did you tell him that for?>

{Karen, I feel bad about what Nick did because of what I said, but at the same time I cant say as I exactly disagree with myself. He does this all the time and it's not healthy. We've tried to fix his issues and nothing has worked, perhaps its time we worried about Sara instead.}

*Karen.* <But Dat, they love him. It would destroy them if he left or died.>

{Yes Karen, they would be sad at first and grieve for a long time but eventually they would move on with their lives. Nick is doing nothing but holding them back and he scars his own child repeatedly. The only thing he cares about is himself. If he doent change this time we need to just face the fact that there is nothing we can do for him.}

*Karen.* <Ugh... I love you but why do you have to be so cold?>

{Karen.... Do you really think doing this doesn't hurt? I feel bad for Nick, and I hate throwing away a friend but think of the consequences. Think of Sara. Does she really need her life ruined by someone who cant value her?}

*Karen.* <No....>

[Dat Basitin]

*DB sighs.* {I know he's done a lot for you. He's done a lot for me too, but sometimes people arnt worth the effort. If he cant see reality its best to let him go.}

*Karen.* <But why would we do that? He's like family.>

{Family isnt always composed of the best people.}

*Karen and DB both look down and take a moment to soak in what's going on. They finally look back up at each other DB hugs Karen.* {It's alright, he might come back this time. Hope is not lost yet.}

[Nick]

*sapphire wakes, and checks on my condition*

*DB and Karen walks out as well and start their usual healing routine.*
