our future server and options...

so, I was thinking, I got to bestbuy today on my lunch and talked to the server guy that they were lucky enough to get to join them, and he said that we would want to run our servers in paid rack hosting space, and that it would cost about 300-600$ a month based upon how many servers we gave them to run...

they would pay for all the electricity, internet, cooling and security, have UPS systems so the sites/servers wouldnt go offline, AAAND have generators to MAKE DAMN SURE the ups systems didnt go offline/servers didnt go offline in the event of a power outage...

and from what I am reading up on online...there are DAMN FEW shared hosts that offer a shit ton of the features that I am willing to offer for free, in their shared hosting options...therefor, us, being a newcomer and small, and not having much of a name for ourselves... I am wondering what all your thoughts are on the following...

and the money is coming out of my broke pockets...hence why its in the future...gotta save for it first...and then going to try to run web hosting to help pay for it as well...

that cost is above and beyond the 12k i'm saving, or trying to save, for the actual server hardware itself... *sighs* god I have big wants XD...

but the server guy here at our bestbuy said that if I can pay in bulk and in cash, then they would be more than willing to strike a deal...more likely than not at least...lol...

php5 and ssi ()server included has all the options...so i think one of those, buyt it'd be expensive

yea...to buy the server...THATS NOT THE SERVER WERE USING...were using MY servers that I AM going to be buying...MY QUESTIONS are more along the lines of what do you think I should charge for our webhosting...thats right...OUR web hosting...because we will have our own servers, and in an effort to lower the cost it will be to house our servers, i'm going to provide web hosting with ALL of those features and more......ssl...everything...vps capabilities, the works...

what should I charge based upon those prices for SHARED hosting??

I've always wanted to own my own datacenter since I was little, and running a web hosting service would be a damn good way to do that...XD...and a damn fun way as well...lol...

Uh I have no clue I'm a coder not a website hoster but um go for about moderate cost not an arm and a leg cost

but based upon the pictures and the features they show, what do you think a good price range should be for shared hosting...cause I can make some systems to where there is different options per level of hosting...its not like it hast to be only one level of shared hosting...hell...i'm nuts...maybe i could have like 8 levels of hosting...4 per amount of features, 2 sets of 4, one being monthly, the other being yearly...
I dont give a damn...i'm doing it for fun and for profit (hopefully) because in the end, that could start my dream of a datacenter and or just plain be profitable for the site and its own purposes...

a good price range would be anywhere from 5 to 15 bucks, keep it affordable while we're unproven to the rest of the industry
